During my childhood and my early teens, I spent three weeks together with my parents on holiday in Greece almost every year.

The first visits were almost completely devoted to swimming and snorkeling in the Mediterranean. However, especially during the later visits – that is to say, during my early teens – we also did some sightseeing. Some of the pictures that were taken at these opportunities can be viewed in my photo album.

In late summer 2017, I finally returned to Greece for another stay. You can read more about this trip in my blog, or just browse the blog photo album.

The island of Corfu (Κέρκυρα) is (in the first place) a swimming and bathing destination. However, it also has some sights and possibilities of excursions to offer.

The region of Epirus (Ήπειρος) is situated directly east of Corfu, and can therefore easily be visited while staying there for a holiday.

Crete (Κρήτη) is the largest Island in Greece and has probably something interesting to offer for everybody.

Lesbos (Λέσβος) is again more of a bathing destination. However, also in this case some sights can be found on this island.

Finally, both the monasteries of Meteora (Μετέωρα) ...
