My first visit to Poland was on the occasion of a mathematics competition: Between June 24 and July 3, 1998, the Österreichisch-Polnischer Mathematik-Wettbewerb 1998 (Austrian-Polish Mathematical Competition 1998) took place in Toruń. As part of the Austrian team, I spent some ten days in Poland. Apart from the competition, some sightseeing was also organized, e.g. visits to Toruń, Chełmno, and Malbork.

It took me until September 2011 to return to Poland. This time, I spent a week in the south of the country (in and around Krakow and the High Tatras). A year later, I spent again some days in (the East of) Poland, in Bialowieża, on my way up to the Baltics.

You may read more about these latter stays in my blog (see Tatra 2011 and Baltics 2012, respectively). Moreover, a few pictures are on display in a small photo album.
