Beim Landeanflug auf (das als sehr windig bekannte) Wellington hat mich dann ein Schild mit dem Stadtnamen im Stile des berühmten "HOLLYWOOD"-Schildes amüsiert – nur dass in der hiesigen Variante die letzten beiden Buchstaben beinahe von einer stilisierten Windböe davongeblasen werden.<\/p>\n

Wenn es nach der Aufschrift auf dem Flughafengebäude geht, bin ich aber eigentlich gar nicht in Wellington umgestiegen, sondern vielmehr an einem ganz besonderen Ort:<\/p>\n

\n \"[Picture]\"<\/a>\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\nI cannot stress enough how I love the "Kiwi Way of Life" liebe: Always relaxed, never serious!<\/p>\n

A good example is Air New Zealand<\/a>: The safety video<\/a> produced on occasion of the release of the first movie of Peter Jackson's "Hobbit" trilogy is probably already quite famous among Tolkenites. But also the safety video shown today on my flight from Christchurch to Wellington is quite tongue-in-cheek:<\/p>\n

During the descent towards the (very windy) city of Wellington, I was amused by a town sign: Designed like the famous "HOLLYWOOD" sign, its last two letters are almost blown away by a stylized breeze.<\/p>\n

Finally, according to the sign on the airport building, I did not even change planes in Wellington, but rather in some quite special place:<\/p>\n
