This is why I actually just wanted to use it as a base for a trip to the surrounding area. However, as I am recovering from my most recent food poisoning, I took it easy and stayed in town after all.<\/p>\n

I simply tried to make the best of it: I treated myself to one last leisurely beach day, went for one last swim in the ocean, and watched the sunset from the (west-facing) beach one last time.<\/p>\n

In the evening, I went to another fire show that turned out to be even more impressive than the one in Koh Lanta<\/a>: It was even better coordinated and more diverse.<\/p>\n

All in all, it was a nice last day in southern Thailand (despite the somewhat adverse circumstances).<\/p>\n
