On one side, it has quite steep cliffs which are, quite probably, responsible for its name (in German, &quot;<span xml:lang=\"de\" lang=\"de\">Hohe Wand<\/span>&quot; means &quot;high wall&quot;). It is very popular with rock climbers, and paragliders.<!--more--><\/p>\n  <div class=\"hoch_re wp-caption alignright single-image\">\n  <p class=\"image\">\n   <a href=\"..\/..\/..\/..\/regions\/europe\/austria\/noe\/index_17.htm\" class=\"lightbox-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img192x288\" src=\"..\/..\/..\/..\/regions\/europe\/austria\/noe\/thumb\/17.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"288\" alt=\"[Picture]\" title=\"Hanslsteig\" \/><\/a>\n  <\/p>\n  <p class=\"wp-caption-text\">\n   Hanslsteig\n  <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n<p>But also hikers like me can easily explore the <span xml:lang=\"de\" lang=\"de\">Hohe Wand<\/span>. Yesterday, a friend and me ascended the &quot;<span xml:lang=\"de\" lang=\"de\">Hanslsteig<\/span>, a rather easy <span xml:lang=\"it\" lang=\"it\">via ferrata<\/span> with only one longer, steep ladder.
