In September/October 2014, I made a first visit to the Caucasus region. On this occasion, I also went on a short detour to Armenia, focusing mainly on the capital Yerevan and its surroundings. On my way back to Georgia, I also visited the beautiful Debed Canyon. In both cases, the major tourist attractions were the curches and monasteries (of which there are indeed a lot in Armenia).
