In the Northern Territory, one can find the (natural) sights of Australia. Unfortunately, they are more than thousand kilometers apart:
-
-
The Red Centre, in the far south of the territory, houses the possibly most famous rock in the world: Uluru! However, also e.g. the Kings Canyon, and the MacDonnell Ranges are worth a visit.
-
In the Top End, in the far north of the territory, the largest national park of all Australia can be found: Kakadu National Park. It is famous for its rich flora and fauna, and of course for its Aboriginal rock paintings.
-
In between (over a length of more than thousand kilometers) stretches the Outback, which has to be crossed in order to get from one end to the other. This means long hours in the car, with just very few sights to visit.
