Lombardy boasts some truly impressive natural scenery, including the Alps and the Alpine Italian lakes. Of the latter, I have already visited Lago Maggiore on an extended weekend just before the "Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference" (ASMC) 2007 in Stresa.
But the region also has something to offer for city tourists – not least thanks to its capital, Milan, which I visited briefly in September 2025 on my way to Southern France.
