On the first day of the IYPT, the contestants where given a short introduction about the area, and could start mingling at a barbeque.

June 25, 2004 – Opening Ceremony & "Physics Fights"

At the Opening Ceremony of the IYPT, one could get a first impression of the culture of the Aborigines.

In the afternoon, it was time for the first competitions, the "Physics Fights".

June 26, 2004 – The City of Brisbane

When spending a whole week in Brisbane, one should not miss out on a stroll through the city.

A cruise on the Brisbane River is also quite a nice passtime for a sunny afternoon ...

June 28, 2004 – Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
-
In order to be able to see the Australian fauna at least once – who can tell how much wildlife we will really see in the wild? – we have been to a sanctuary with koalas, kangaroos, and other Australian species.

June 29, 2004 – Excursion

In order to relax after the IYPT, the students could enjoy a whole-day excursion. The first stop was in the Glass House Mountains.

After a short stop in the tourist town of Montville, we ventured on a short hike to Kondalilla Falls.

Finally, after taking a swim at Mooloolaba, we enjoyed the view of Brisbane from atop Mt. Coot-tha.

June 30, 2004 – Final & Closing Ceremony

After the Final of the IYPT in the morning, the competition was finally ended officially by the Closing Ceremony and the Lord Mayor's Reception.
