On the morning of New Year's Eve, we flew from Buenos Aires to Bariloche ...

... where we did a short trip through the Nahuel Huapi National Park, within which Bariloche is situated.

In the evening, we celebrated the new year together in a restaurant where we also enjoyed an excellent buffet dinner.

On the first day of the new year, we finally drove to the middle of the national park, that is to say in the middle of nowhere.

After arriving at our small hotel, we explored the nearby Ventisquero Negro, the black glacier.

We spent the next day hiking on the slopes of Cerro Tronador, ...

... up to the Refugio Otto Meiling.

After two nights in the middle of nowhere, we had to say farewell to the Nahuel Huapi National Park.

However, we travelled on on the Ruta de los Siete Lagos (Seven Lakes Route), which led us into another national park.
