Central Park
Central Park holds great attractions for both tourists and Manhattanites in every season:
- During summer, the parks offers the possibility to relax on one of its countless meadows.
- During fall, the park is bathed in beautiful colours, ranging from green grass to yellow bushes and red trees. If you are spending the so-called "Indian Summer" in New York, you should definitely have a look at Central Park!
- During winter, one may be lucky enough to see the park covered in snow.
- During spring, the park is again very colourful – this time thanks to hundreds of blooming flowers and blossoming trees.
Personally, I like the Indian Summer best – that is to say, the time from mid October to mid November, when the park is bathed in autumnal colours. However, I have not yet witnessed the park in full bloom during spring – my stay around Easter in 2004 was about two weeks too early for that.
It is especially appealing to witness all seasons. However, as a "ordinary" tourist, one has hardly ever the possibility to do that. This is why I would like to present Central Park throughout the seasons:
This short travel guide is based on my experiences from my study abroad in New York.
