... before continuing on to my actual destination, Bialowieża.

On my way to Lithuania, I also stopped in Bialystok for a night.

The Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, was my base for a few days.

I made a short stop at the Hill of Crosses ...

... on my way to the (absolutely beautiful) Curonian Spit.

A day trip led me to Dzūkija NP.

I also visited Trakai with its impressive castle.

Finally, I explored Aukštaitija NP.

I did not see a lot of the Daugava bends. Still, it was a nice stop ...

... on my way to the Latvian captial, Riga.

The hightlight of my stay in Latvia, however, was Gauja NP.

There, I also had the opportunity to enjoy a Jāņi Celebration.

Once more, I made a short stop-over, this time in Pärnu, ...

... and explored the Estonian captial Tallinn.
