I spent the last three days in the Madikwe Game Reserve on several game drives. Even though it is still the first week of my holiday, I can already say that this was for sure one of the highlights of my trip.
It already started with my charming accommodation at Mosetlha Bush Camp: in an open log cabin, in the middle of the reserve, without any surrounding fence (only an electric wire to keep the elephants out).
As all resorts in Madikwe, Mosetlha is an all inclusive camp. In this case, this also includes two four-hour long game drives a day: one in the morning (from 5:30 to 9:30 a.m.), and one in the late afternoon (from 4:00 bis 8:00 p.m.). In between (or after), there is enough time for a sumptuous breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All in all, I felt really spoiled.
During the game drives, we have seen all of the "Big Five" (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard). But also apart from that, there are lots of other animals to see: giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, different kinds of antelopes, cheetas and hyaenas, etc.
