Nicaragua’s Black Mountain

After the Black Forest a couple of days ago, I visited the Cerro Negro ("Black Hill") volcano today. This time, the name of the volcano resulted from the black sand that is covering it all over.

Apart from my hike atop the volcano, I have spent my four days in the city of León with some sightseeing (visiting the numerous churches) and at the beach (on the Pacific coast).

By the way, some trivia: Since six days, this trip is now the longest time I have ever spent abroad (i.e. outside of Austria). So far, my record was 143 days (my study abroad in New York). Today, I have alread reached the 150th day of my Round-the-World trip – and I am still counting!
