Moab is not only an outdoor mecca, and close to Arches NP. It is also close to another national park which is completely different from the first one: Canyonlands NP.

Even though there are also some arches (like Mesa Arch), the main feature of the park is an extensive system of canyons. The canyons might not be as deep as the Grand Canyon, but as the whole area is that sprawling, it is definitely no less impressive.

In the evening, we had a barbecue in the neighbouring Dead Horse Point State Park which overlooks the same canyons.
