Zion NP got its name from the first (mormon) settler because it was so idyllic and untouched. In fact, it basically still is (considering the fact that it is a tourist destination), and is definitely one of my favourites on this trip.
The park offers two great walks, one of which was closed due to the unusually high water level of the Virgin River: The Narrows are no hiking trail in the classical sense, but you rather walk, wade or even swim in the river bed until you cannot go any further.
But this trail closure also hat its advantage: I did not have to decide which of the two walks are more important to me, and I just set off for Angels Landing. This trail is especially steep, and, more importantly, directly next to the "path" (which is just made up by some rocks on a cliff top) there is an (almost vertical) drop of about 2000 feet. However, this sounds a lot worse than it actually is – at least that was the impression of all of us.
In any case, the view from the top more than made up for all efforts. It was a truly breathtaking view of the entire Zion Canyon.
Compared to this hike, all other trails were rather "ordinary", but nonetheless still quite enjoyable.
