Today, I did not only return from my hike on Kepler Track, but it was also "Census Day" in New Zealand. Surprisingly enough, not only New Zealand residents have to participate, but all people spending the night in New Zealand – and that also includes me!
Now, the New Zealand Office for Statistics knows a bit about me: my name, my date and country of birth, my address in Austria (and that I moved to another flat within Austria in the past five years), etc. It is a bit beyond me what they want to do with this kind of information, but me filling out the form did at least make the receptionist at my hostel happy, so there you go…
