Actually, Tarbes only made it onto my travel plan as a base for renting a car. But then I thought that I could give it at least a morning for some sightseeing. Unfortunately, that did not quite work out as I had hoped.

It ended up raining the whole morning today. Luckily, I arrived in the city half an hour early the day before, before I was able to check in to my accommodation. So, I already took a short walk through the city center then. That way, I could at least see the impressive town hall (see cover picture above) and the beautiful Jardin Massey in the sunshine.

Today, I still spent an hour or so exploring. However, this is simply not the same in the rain. So, I spent more time sitting in my room than walking around the city.

After checking out, I made my way to the train station (a little earlier than necessary) – only to find out (shortly after arriving there) that my train was about two hours late. The railway really has not been kind to me on this trip!
