As I have already explained previously in my blog, there is still a lot to do in order to improve alternative, environmentally friendly means of transport in Vienna. For this reason, there is a Friday Night Skating.

As in other European cities with similar events, the Friday Night Skating gives the possibility to skate (or bike) through the city. Every Friday night in summer (provided that it is not raining), a different route through the streets of Vienna is chosen. Apart from being fun, the Friday Night Skating is also a demonstration for alternative means of transport, such as biking and skating.

For the past few years, I participated in this event/demonstration regularly. I support the goals of the demonstration, but I also simply enjoy biking through Vienna by night. Just two days ago, the last Friday Night Skating of this season took place – it has again been a great season!
