I have not heard of the Grand Tetons before this trip. Still, this national park is definitely worth a visit.
We were actually quite lucky to make it there, because the road from Yellowstone to the Grand Tetons had just been opened the day before – because of the exceptionally large amount of snow
. The lakes within the park were still frozen over, and the trails were (at least partly) covered in snow.
Despite the snow, we hiked along Jenny Lake, and finally up to Inspiration Point. For most of the way, we hiked through snow. When sinking in, we even were up to our knees in snow (at least at some points). In my opinion, though, this made the walk especially interesting albeit a bit tiring.
On this walk, we also saw quite a bit of wildlife, including e.g. a marmot, and an especially cheeky chipmunk.
