Originally, Moab was on my wishlist only because of its proximity to Arches NP (which I really wanted to visit). As it turned out, the small town has a lot more to offer than "just" one national park.
The town is something like the outdoor mecca of the United States. We also took advantage of that, and went mountainbiking for half a day. The tour led us onto the (obviously world-famous, at least among mountainbikers) "slick rock". Fortunately, this rock is only really slick if you are riding a horse. So, only the sand remained a challenge (and caused quite a few bruises among our group).
In the evening, we went on a Hummer tour. This tour led us again onto the slick rock – this time, however, we did not have to pedal ourselves. This means that we could go up much steeper slopes – even up to 45 degrees! If you kept remembering that the driver wanted to return home safely as well, you could actually enjoy this ride a lot.
