Am I in Russia?

As I enjoyed Kotor that much, I have been looking forward to my next destination, Budva. This time, however, my (now quite high) expectations have not been fulfilled.

The old town of Budva is quite nice, but cannot compete with the charm of Kotor. Worse still, the city is firmly in the hands of Russian and Ukrainian tourists. In itself, this is not that bad – if it was not for the other effects of mass tourism: Basically the whole beach promenade of Budva is crowed by food vendors, travel agencies, ice cream parlours, and various junk stalls. What a pity!

At least Budva also has some beaches to offer. In particular, I liked the somewhat remote Mogren beaches (the latter of which can only be reached through a small rocky passage, and – depending on the tides – you might even have to get your feet wet). There, I quickly jumped into the water, and cooled down after my tour of the city in the midday heat.
