Fizz, Bubble, Steam, Stink (again)!

Rotorua has not changes much since my last visit in November 2008: It is still full of tourists, it still smells of sulphur (in some places), and in the area around there is still a lot of vulcanic activity.

Today, I visited the features related to the Mount Tarawera eruption on June 10, 1886: Waimangu Valley and the Buried Village.

California Redwood

My last stop was Whakarewarewa Forest, a Redwood forest with an obscure mixture of Californian Redwoods and New Zealand Fern Trees.
