Together with two friends, I visited TEDxVienna today. It was a quite long day, but with lots of interesting talks. All of them were (loosely) under the heading "On The Edge".
For example, we learned about going viral, emojis from a psychologist’s point of view, video games against racism, data storage in DNA, and the quantum internet. The most impressive talk was given by a fourteen-year-old (!) from the United States who described her three-year-long quest for affordable, sustainable sources of energy (based on piezoelectricity and photovoltaics). She could even show a prototype of a small lamp (based on these very principles) for her efforts.
