I never thought that my holiday in the Pyrenees would start in Karlsruhe. However, the night train to Paris that I wanted to take was cancelled due to track construction work in Germany, so I had to look for alternatives.
In the end, the connection via Karlsruhe was one of the fastest (while still leaving enough leeway for delays). Despite the rather bad weather, I had a short stroll through the city center (after spending most of the days on trains).
This blog entry is an abridged version of the original entry in German.
