Today was not a relaxing vacation day, but a rather sombre history lesson: I visited the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

Even though I have already been to Mauthausen Concentration Camp (in Austria) back in school, and I therefore more or less knew what to expect, it was a very depressing visit.

Nonetheless, it was an important day: Visiting a concentration camp and learning about this dark chapter of European history is definitely something everyone should do at least once in their lives.
