Ao Nang is quite touristy. This is why I actually just wanted to use it as a base for a trip to the surrounding area. However, as I am recovering from my most recent food poisoning, I took it easy and stayed in town after all. Continue reading The tourist beach of Krabi

The amazing beaches of Krabi
After my stay on the island of Koh Lanta, I went back to the mainland. However, also my next destination had some properties that are usually typically of an island: It can only be reached by boat, and not by road. Continue reading The amazing beaches of Krabi
Relaxing on Koh Lanta
After saying goodbye to Northern Thailand, it is now time for the Thai beaches. I decided to visit the province of Krabi for that, as it is supposed to be not as crowded as the “big names” like Phuket or Ko Samui. The first three (full) days, I spent on the island of Koh Lanta. Atolls of the South Pacific
For my last stop in French Polynesia, I said goodbye to the Society Islands (and therefore to the mountainous islands inside a lagoon). Instead, I moved on to the Tuamotu archipelago: older islands where only the surrounding reef remains, in the middle of which there is a large lagoon. Continue reading Atolls of the South Pacific
Ambivalent South Pacific

South Pacific cliché
Tahiti was actually just a short stop-over. My true South Pacific adventure really did start with five days in Moorea. Continue reading South Pacific cliché
Workation on the Canary Islands
In fall 2022, I tried out something new: I combined (a bit over) three weeks of vacations with (a bit under) three weeks of teleworking. In total, I spent six weeks on the Canary Islands – more precisely, on Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
A second (work) week in Los Gigantes
My second week of teleworking from Los Gigantes was basically very similar to the first one. The main difference is that it was shorter: I am already flying home today (ie. on Thursday). Other than that, I spent my free time again with swimming and watching the sunset. Continue reading A second (work) week in Los Gigantes
Walking through hell
As hiking around Los Gigantes is not that easy (as already explained in the last blog entry), I took the bus towards the South today. I decided to explore a very popular canyon: Barranco del Infierno. Continue reading Walking through hell
