Today is my first “true” vacation day, and I said farewell to Las Palmas. After picking up my rental car, I made my way into the island’s interior, where I will spend the next few days. Also today, I was drawn to places outside the city. I will spend the next week in Las Palmas anyway – mostly working, but hopefully I will also find some time for short explorations within the city. The Isonzo Canyons

Yesterday, I already liked the Soča (aka Isonzo) river a lot. So, I decided to take the longer trip to the Soča Valley today in order to hike part of the Soča Trail. However, I decided against the almost eight-hour variant over the full 27.6 kilometers (from the source to Bovec). Plan B in Bürs and Brand

Due to the bad weather, my initially planned hike to two summits near Bludenz was not really possible. Besides, I was not sure whether I had a third day with 1000 metres elevation gain in me.
