City amidst Volcanoes, Volcanoes in Clouds

I spent a bit more time in San José than I originally planed to. The "instruction" for my volunteer program only consisted of a one-and-a-half hour long speech about the different projects, and so I had also enough time for exploring the surroundings of the city.

Surprisingly, I also liked the city itself quite much. Even though there are not that many actual sights, a small festival, which took place the past weekend, was quite entertaining. Moreover, the museum of pre-columbian gold ornaments was quite interesting.

My visits to the volcanoes (Poás und Irazú) was a bit clouded, however (quite literally). The clouds only allowed a half-hour long glimpse of the crater of Irazú volcano, and prevented me from seeing the crater of Poás at all.
