Having already explored the city center of Lille in the past few afternoons (after work), I decided to go to Dunkirk today (on my first “real” vacation day). Continue reading The Towers of Dunkirk

Short Workation in Lille
Only three working days after being at Devoxx UK (in London) last week, my vacation (in London) was scheduled to begin. Therefore, flying home was out of the question. Instead, I spent these three working days in Lille – because a cozy apartment in the city center there is cheaper than a small single room on the outskirts of zone 2 of the Tube in London (even when including the train journey from and to London). At the heart of Austrian Democracy

Workation on the Canary Islands

A second (work) week in Los Gigantes
My second week of teleworking from Los Gigantes was basically very similar to the first one. The main difference is that it was shorter: I am already flying home today (ie. on Thursday). Other than that, I spent my free time again with swimming and watching the sunset. Continue reading A second (work) week in Los Gigantes
Walking through hell
As hiking around Los Gigantes is not that easy (as already explained in the last blog entry), I took the bus towards the South today. I decided to explore a very popular canyon: Barranco del Infierno. Continue reading Walking through hell
Hiking above Los Gigantes
As I am spending some time working in Los Gigantes, I also wanted to go hiking in the area. However, this turned out to be not that easy, as a lot of hiking trails are closed due to the danger of rockfalls – which is maybe not too surprising if you consider the steep Los Gigantes cliffs. Still, I finally managed to find a nice, albeit rather short hike from Tamaimo down to Los Gigantes. Continue reading Hiking above Los Gigantes
