In the past four days, I hiked the Kepler Trail, one of New Zealand's "Great Walks". Just like the Milford Track, which I did last time, this title is really well deserved. Continue reading Another Truly Great Walk

Wanaka – with W as in “Welcome back!”
Initially, I did not plan to come back to Wanaka. In the end, I decided to visit my favourite town of my first trip again, and do another day hike there that I missed the last time. Continue reading Wanaka – with W as in “Welcome back!”

Heaphy & Hippie
For the past four days, I stayed in a hippie hostel. Even though I did not go hippie, the relaxed atmosphere still made me sit back and do nothing much but short strolls on the river and beach during the first one and a half days.
Yesterday, I went to the Oparara Basin, as already mentioned before. Today, I finally did a three-hours-long stroll on Heaphy Track. Continue reading Heaphy & Hippie

Abel Tasman by Land
The last two days, I was hiking in Abel Tasman National Park. Despite it being my first real hike, I opted for a two-day outing (which was recommended to me by an Austrian couple). As it turned out, it was a good decision. Continue reading Abel Tasman by Land
Bay and Bog

A Day in the Lithuanian Countryside
Today, I left Vilnius behind and went on a day trip to Dzūkija National Park. There, I went on a hike through the forest, passing by the meanders of the stream Grūda, wading through grass, and enjoying the unspoilt nature. Continue reading A Day in the Lithuanian Countryside
