Last year, I blogged about travelling by bike around the world. Some people even take it one step (or should I say: millions upon millions of steps?) further: They are travelling around the world on foot. Continue reading Travelling on Foot

Best of the West
From May 8, to May 30, 2010, I was travelling in United States on the "Best of the West" tour offered by Trek America. Although the group was older than expected (with an average age of about 50), the mix worked really well – in fact, even better than I could have wished for. So, the age did not really matter after all.
What turned out to be (much) worse than expected, though, was the weather. We experienced pretty much everything you can imagine: from hail to rain to snow, from sunshine to strong winds (including a snow storm, and a sand storm). Despite these adverse conditions, however, it was a really great holiday.
A Sinful Place on Earth

Flying High and Walking Deep Down
My second visit to the Grand Canyon was somehow completely different than the first one: In 2003, I was already speechless when just standing at the rim, and looking down into the canyon. This time, however, I needed a bit more to be in awe again. Continue reading Flying High and Walking Deep Down

Canyons Without End
Moab is not only an outdoor mecca, and close to Arches NP. It is also close to another national park which is completely different from the first one: Canyonlands NP. Continue reading Canyons Without End
Moab, the Outdoor Mecca of the United States
Originally, Moab was on my wishlist only because of its proximity to Arches NP (which I really wanted to visit). As it turned out, the small town has a lot more to offer than "just" one national park. Continue reading Moab, the Outdoor Mecca of the United States
