For the first time, I visited Southeast Asia: I spent three weeks in Vietnam, travelling through the whole country from South to North.

My first trip to Africa
For a very long time, Africa was still a (mostly) blank spot on my travel map. In fall 2018, I managed to change that with a trip to South Africa (and Lesotho).
Ecuador & Galapagos
In spring 2018, I treated myself to a very special trip: a visit to Ecuador and the Galapagos islands.
Across the United States
In spring 2017, seven years after my previous trip, I finally returned to the United States for another holiday. This time, I crossed the whole country by train: from New York via Chicago and Utah all the way to California.
Highlights of China
In October 2016, it was time to explore a region of which I did not know much about before: China. I spent three weeks there, exploring some of the most well-known sights of this country.
The Ruta Maya
In Winter 2016, I got to know the culture of the Mayas (in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador). I also had some relaxing days on the beach, and went hiking in the Guatemaltecan highlands.
Walking the World
In autumn 2013, I spent a relaxing holiday in Croatia. In the years 2014 and 2015, however, the focus was more on hiking: in Scandinavia, in the Caucasus, and in the Himalaya.
Hiking the Caucasus
As I really enjoyed my Caucasus trip the year before, but did not manage to see "everything", I returned to this region once more. This time, I focused mainly on Eastern Georgia: Kacheti and Tusheti.
Annapurna Sanctuary
For two weeks, I was hiking in the Annapurna region (on a group tour). After that, I explored Kathmandu valley for just under a week (on my own).
Mountains and Monasteries of the Caucasus
In fall 2014, I explored the Caucasus for two weeks. During that time, I was not only hiking in the mountains. I also explored lots of churches and monasteries, some of which were truly spectacular.
