When you are travelling, you can learn quite a few things. For me, my stay in Dubrovnik meant learning some things about the city that I did not expect – mainly because these were things a travel guide will not really talk about. Continue reading Things to know about Dubrovnik

Damberg Time Trial
A few weeks before leaving Steyr for good, I am beginning to appreciate the advantages of living in this small town. The close mountains, as well as the valleys of the Enns and Steyr rivers, offer great opportunities for cycling. Continue reading Damberg Time Trial
A Weekend in London
On the past weekend, a friend from London celebrated her 30th birthday. Of course, I could not resist the temptation to fly to London for two days on this occasion. So, I also escaped the storm "Emma", as the weather in London was great: sunny, and only a bit of wind. However, on my flight back to Linz the storm took its toll, as we were redirected to Graz (after two unsuccessful attempts to land in Linz).
Ireland, the Emerald Isle
In June 2007, I made my first visit to Ireland. Now I finally finished my travel diary (in German), providing more details about my two-weeks stay on the island.
- One week, I was touring the Western coast in the beautiful Irish countryside.
- The second week, I spent in and around Dublin, enjoying the rich culture of the island.
One day in Budapest
Two Hungarian friends of mine wanted me to come to Budapest with them for years. In early July 2007, I finally made it to Hungarian captial. Ironically, my friends did not have a lot of time during the weekend I spent there. Therefore, I explored Budapest mainly by myself.
The ASMC 2007 at Lago Maggiore
I spent the last week in Stresa on the shores of Lago Maggiore on occasion of the "Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference" (ASMC). Of these seven days, the first four were just leisure days (on my own expenses). During this time, I explored the region together with a colleague from the FH Steyr. Having enjoyed my stay very much, I can only recommend the Lago Maggiore as a holiday destination.
Visiting some Fellow Students
What do you do in the weeks before your final exam at the university? Travel, of course – why learn at home?
