My last stop in Lithuania was Aukštaitija National Park, which boasts more than 100 lakes that are mostly interconnected by small streams. Today’s Special Combo: Forest, Sand, and Sea!
Today's excursion to the Curonia Spit was a very memorable one: The mixture of more sand dunes, which are over 50 meters high, and dense forest makes this area rather unique (at least in my experience). Continue reading Today’s Special Combo: Forest, Sand, and Sea!
The Last Primeval Forest in Europe

Staycation in Vienna
Even though Vienna is not close to some mountains (as, for example, the city of Steyr, where I was working for three years), there are quite a few possibilities for outdoor sports within the city. The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is especially popular. Continue reading Staycation in Vienna

Damberg Time Trial
A few weeks before leaving Steyr for good, I am beginning to appreciate the advantages of living in this small town. The close mountains, as well as the valleys of the Enns and Steyr rivers, offer great opportunities for cycling. Continue reading Damberg Time Trial
